This bill is saying that the governing authority of any school other than a post secondary school may not allow a person to attend as a pupil unless the person has been immunizing against varicella, diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus, poliomyelitis, rubella, mumps, and measles (rubella) in the manner and with immunizing agents approved by the department. If the student has been immunized against Hemophiliacs influenza type "b" before enrolling in a preschool if under 5 years of age or qualifies for conditional attendance; or files for an exemption. The governing authority of a post secondary school may not allow a person to attend as a pupil unless the person: has a reason to otherwise not be vaccinated.

This bill was introduced by M. Macdonald. She wants to add the varicella to list. Varicella is the vaccine against chicken pocks.

While I don't believe that there is a large population at Roberts that would be against getting the vaccine it might help our school out. There are not a lot of cases of chicken pocks though. You also have to look at the stipulations of a school. The more stipulations that you have the less students are going to want to come here. Students don't want to go somewhere that they have to get a lot of extra shots to go.

However, if we did require this then we might have any chicken pocks in Roberts. I think that it is good to not vaccinate against it and then allow students to get it. There is really no better immunity against a disease then the natural one that your body builds up. Also it is  good to get the younger you are. It is said that chicken pocks are much easier on people to get it younger and then the older you are when you get them, the harder it is on you.

I would tell people to shut down the bill. It is crazy there are certain things that people need to gain a natural immunity against to make sure that save themselves in the future.

  1. Ok. Keep an eye on basic sentence structure. You have a few (many) run-ons. KISS! Keep in short, simple.
